In the Battle of the Nile in 1798, one of Napoleon's ships, L'Orient, was attacked at about 9 o'clock in the evening. The ship caught fire and exploded an hour later. Giocante Casabianca, a twelve-year-old son of the ship's Commander, had stayed at his post aboard the flaming ship.
