To
Autumn
by
John Keats
Keats died in Italy of tuberculosis and is buried in Rome. A year later, Shelley died in a boating accident off the coast of Italy. His body was lost for several days and when found unrecognizable, Shelley was identified by the book in his jacket pocket . . . . Lamia by John Keats.
This poem . . . To Autumn . . . was one of the many Keats had written in the year of 1819. When published the poems were not well received, or appreciated, until much later in the Victorian Era.
